Strike Medium Fighter B04 by karash-amerius Strike Medium Fighter B04 by karash-amerius
This is an "Imperial" class medium fighter of the backwater 301st "Three Shields Garrison" SpaceWing. This strike ship is a mid-tier interceptor class that generally finds itself in the start of many battles, with not a lot of staying power. Like all Imperial birds, it is heavily armed and a bit sluggish at the controls. However, in capable hands, it can be downright deadly

The 301st is generally not viewed as a prestigious assignment, but the backwater status of the SpaceWing leaves it's commanders with a degree of autonomy not seen in the Imperial core worlds.

Artist Notes
This is a fairly simple design. I told myself I was going to make another ship in the style of the previous Imperial Heavy Fighter, but a mid-tier class. So, I tried not to do a lot of detailing, but rather just prove I can still make a "small ship". I also plan on testing this model in the UDK game development kit by Epic.

Paint job on this one is fairly odd...but for some reason I stuck with it. Powder blue and tomato anyone? Really just a down and dirty coloring to get it "done".

The missile/munition launchers are right behind the small aft "wings". It basically "ejects" the munition...then the missile activates and engages its target.

Still no flair. I actually tried on this one, but the more I put on, the less I liked the ship.

Modeling: Google Sketchup 7
Post Production: Adobe Photoshop CS2
