Please take this as a compliment when I say I am SO ganking your designs to build as miniatures for playing Full Thrust. I enjoy all your iterations of spacecraft, from the sleek and beautiful to the chunky and homely.
I just found a in-development sci-fi game, it`s name is INFINITY-Quest for Earth It could get as big and great as EVE online, the gamedevelopers are searching for 3d, concept and all kind of sci-fi art contributions. You have realy nice starship-models, and it would be nice, to play them ingame You won't get paid, but you get a free account and your name will be listed in the credits, i think that's quit something!!! If you know somebody else with great concept designs, copy the information please, i want the game to have a good style^^
I have been following Infinity for quite some time, probably 4 years now. I really don't think we will see a real game from the development. Its a good technology demo right now, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much
I whould not say its horrible its easy to use but its not as advanced as other programs. 2 things I can say about it is that.
1. I find it much easier to do easier stuff in sketchup compared to other programs
2. But its much more work to do more advanced stuff thats somewhat easy in other programs, for example there is no built in sub-divide tool wich makes it (atleast in my tries) very time consuming and hard to make more natural/"alien" looking things.
Yes I often hear that Sketchup is really bad...especially from 3D modelers that use more advanced programs like 3DMAX, Maya, and the like. But Sketchup is fee, and easy to learn...at least it was to me. Maybe one day I will "graduate" to at least Blender.
